Dr. Annaliesse Hurtado Guzmán holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences, a Master's degree in Social Psychology of Groups and Institutions, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). She completed a research stay at the Department of Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. She is a certified Psychotherapist Director in Classical Psychodrama, as well as an expert witness in forensic psychology and in the diagnosis and prevention of gender-based violence and femicide.

She serves as a Professor-Researcher in the Department of Sociology at UAM Unidad Iztapalapa, where she is a member of the State and Social Movements academic section. She holds Candidate status in Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNII) and serves on the commission for the Colaboratorio de Investigaciones Situadas: Arte y Cuerpo.

Her academic research focuses on analyzing contemporary social issues including gender-based violence, migration, forced displacement, political violence, social struggles, forms of resistance, and processes of social exclusion, marginalization, labor, and social conflict. Furthermore, she actively engages in the defense and promotion of human rights, with a primary emphasis on women and girls.
