Dr. Miguel López Guerrero earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Ciudad Universitaria Campus, in 1995, followed by a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution in 1998. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 2004, where he also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship.

Since 2004, he has served as a Full-Time Professor and Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. He is a Level I member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNII).

He regularly serves on the technical program committees of international conferences and acts as a reviewer for numerous international scientific journals. His research interests include the design and performance evaluation of communication network components and services, as well as stochastic modeling using alpha-stable random variables.
