Profile
Doctor Salomón Cordero Sánchez earned his Ph.D. and Master's degrees in Chemistry from the Iztapalapa Campus of the UAM, as well as his degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering from the IPN. He has been a Level 1 member of the National System of Researchers since 2003.
In recent years, the professor has focused his research on three main areas: (I) the statistical study of disordered media, such as adsorbents, controlled-release tablets, and surfaces impregnated with catalytically active metals; (II) the understanding of the relationship between texture and mass transport using cellular automata and Monte Carlo methods; and (III) the implementation of genetic algorithms. Additionally, he participates in the technical direction of research projects focused on the synthesis and application of Ordered Mesoporous Carbon Materials.
In the area of human resources training, he supervised the thesis work of one undergraduate student, one master’s student, and four doctoral students. Finally, he co-authors more than 50 scientific articles published in peer-reviewed international journals.
